Originally from Long Island, New York, Nancy studied Design at Nassau Community College, Garden City, New York and Fine Art at Buffalo State College in Buffalo.  She is certified in both graphic design & HTML.  After living in the Carolina’s for over 25 years, she now calls Mobile, Alabama home. 

Over the years, Nancy has had several group and solo exhibitions and maintained gallery space in both Greenville and Greer, South Carolina and Pinehurst, N.C.   She has been involved in the community as an artist mentor in after school arts & gifted programs, portrait drawing instructor Greenville Technical Charter High School  Arts Intercession Program (2009, 2010) and has been a National PTA Reflections Contest Visual Arts District Judge, Greenville County, S.C.  (2007, 2010).  Nancy spent 6 years as a docent for the Greenville County Museum of Art, and has demonstrated in both drawing and painting at the museum’s Sundays @ 2, and its Artists in Action programs.  She has given classes and workshops in beginning and intermediate watercolor classes since 2008. 

Currently, Nancy Barry is First Vice President of the Mobile Art Association and Director Visual Arts LEAP (Leinkauf Elementary Arts Program), Mobile, Alabama. 

She is a member of the Shibui Chapter of the National Sumi-e Society, the Mobile Art Association, the Coastal Alabama Botanical Artists Circle and the American Society of Botanical Artists

Nancy works in several mediums, including: graphite, western watercolor, watercolor & pastel in combination, Chinese watercolor, Japanese sumie ink, and cold water textile dyes.
